Are you interested in exploring the hidden impact of global warming?
Join us for a special lunchtime showcase by sound artist and Institute of Advanced Studies Artist-in-Residence Boris Allenou.
Boris will present ACOUS-TICK, a sonic interpretation of the lifecycle of the UK tick species Ixodes Ricinusunder shifting climatic conditions. The work, a collaboration with Surrey’s Dr Marine Petit, translates field recordings and data into sound – demonstrating how art can help us understand environmental change.
Chance to contribute: To add a visual element to the sound piece we invite you to submit your own drawings of ticks. You don’t need to be an artist! We’re just looking for simple drawings that we can animate and project. Please send your drawing in advance to boris.allenou@gmail.com or use the submission form
Light lunch will be provided after the event at 1pm.
Everyone welcome, but registration is required. Registration deadline 29th May.
Sorry, this event is not currently accepting abstracts.
