Innovative Approach for Reducing Pesticide Pollution in Soils
This talk is given by Prof Jian Xu as part of his visiting IAS Fellowship at the University of Surrey. Hosted by the School of Sustainability, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Speaker: Prof Jian Xu, Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences, China
The pollution of soil and groundwater caused by pesticide production is a widespread problem in many developing countries. Prof Jian Xu will introduce the innovative approach of combining in-situ chemical oxidation technology (ISCO) – a solution that is widely used but offers limited efficiency – with groundwater circulation well technology in order to improve the speed at which pollutants degrade.
All welcome.
