Anaemia is a critical public health issue in India, affecting a significant portion of children, adolescent females, and women. We are pleased to invite you to a presentation by Rohan Shah, who will showcase findings from the Maharashtra Anaemia Study 2 (MAS 2) Project, focusing on the prevalence and risk factors of anaemia among adolescent females in rural Maharashtra.
The primary aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of anaemia in adolescent females and to assess the feasibility of involving participants from rural regions of Maharashtra through community and hospital-based recruitment strategies. The initial phase of the Maharashtra Anaemia Study (MAS 1) revealed that 87% of adolescent girls in the region were anaemic and identified the risk factors associated with anaemia.
Building on this, Dr Rohan Shah, in collaboration with Dr Anand Ahankari, conducted further research using the MAS 2 dataset, which includes data from 400 adolescent girls. The findings from this study will provide deeper insights into the prevalence and risk factors of anaemia in this population.
Join us for this important presentation to better understand the challenges and strategies in addressing anaemia in adolescent females from rural Maharashtra. Your participation and insights will be highly valued.
