Speaker: Professor Patrick Mikalef, Professor in Data Science and Information Systems, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
Abstract: The notion of responsible AI has emerged from a fear that AI may lead to negative or unintended consequences through its use in different areas. While the concept is now broadly used, there is little consensus about what it means and why it is important. This makes it challenging for both research and practice to make meaning out of the notion and to implement such approaches where needed. In this talk, there will be a critical reflection on what it means to be responsible in the age of AI and how we can problematise some key concepts in order to improve how we develop and use technology. More importantly, we will discuss why being responsible with AI can be good business.
